Die europäische Zementnorm und ihre Auswirkungen in Deutschland (Teil 2)
The European cement standard and its effect in Germany (Part 2)
Sybertz, Franz / Thielen, Gerd
– The European cement standard EN 197-1 for common cements and the corresponding conformity evaluation standard EN 197-2 passed the formal vote in early 2001 and have been published as DIN EN standards in Feb. 2001 and Nov. 2000, respectively. More than 10 years after the coming into force of the European Building Products Directive, the first harmonized European product standard comes into operation. Parallel to the introduction through reference to these standards in the Official European Journal dated Jan. 23, 2001 and the beginning of the one year's transition period admitted therein, the German Cement Industry converts their cements to the new standards. In the following the main consequences of the new standards on production and use of cement are illustrated.
