Anforderungen an die Betontechnik aus der Sicht eines öffentlichen Bauherrn

Die Betontechnik unterliegt insbesondere in der jüngeren Vergangenheit zahlreichen Veränderungen und Herausforderungen. Dies betrifft z.B. die Erosion der Basis „Langzeiterfahrung“ für den aktuell ausschließlich verfolgten Design-Ansatz, aber auch zunehmende Probleme mit wesentlichen Frischbetoneigenschaften wie der Einhaltung des Luftgehalts und der Sicherstellung einer ausreichenden Mischungsstabilität des Frischbetons. Vor dem Hintergrund sich ändernder Betonausgangsstoffe und Betonzusammensetzungen, aber auch in dieser Form bislang nicht bekannter Probleme mit elementaren Eigenschaften des Betons – wie z.B. einer ausreichenden Mischungsstabilität – ist das Qualitätssicherungskonzept der Betonnormung kritisch zu hinterfragen. Das aktuelle Qualitätssicherungskonzept braucht an verschiedenen Stellen Ergänzungen und Optimierungen. Neben angemessenen Erstprüfungen, ergänzenden Anforderungen an Ausgangsstoffe und Betonzusammensetzung sowie einer Ausweitung des Informationsflusses vom Betonhersteller an den Verwender ist hier insbesondere die Ergänzung des bestehenden Design-Ansatzes durch Performance-Komponenten, also durch Prüfverfahren und Prüfkriterien für wesentliche Frisch- und Festbetoneigenschaften, zu nennen. Hierbei ist – in Abhängigkeit von Randbedingungen wie Einwirkungen auf oder Anforderungen an das zu erstellende Bauwerk bzw. an den zu liefernden Beton – sicherlich eine Differenzierung erforderlich. Das angedachte „Neue Konzept zur Betonbauqualität“, das seitens der entsprechenden NABau-Ausschüsse und des Deutschen Ausschusses für Stahlbeton derzeit entwickelt wird, könnte eine geeignete Basis für die erforderlichen Modifizierungen sein.

Concrete technology has been subject to numerous changes and challenges, especially in the recent past. This concerns, for example, the erosion of the “long term experience” basis for the design approach that is currently being followed exclusively, but also increasing problems with essential fresh concrete properties, such as maintaining the air content and ensuring adequate mix stability of the fresh concrete. The concrete standardization quality assurance scheme must be critically examined against the background of changing concrete constituents and concrete compositions, but also of problems with fundamental properties of the concrete not previous known in this form – such as adequate mix stability. The current quality assurance scheme needs to be supplemented and optimized at various points. In addition to appropriate initial testing, subsidiary requirements for constituents and concrete composition and an extension of the flow of information from the concrete producer to the user, particular mention should be made here of supplementing the existing design approach by performance components, i.e. test methods and test criteria for essential fresh and hardened concrete properties. Differentiation is certainly needed here, depending on marginal conditions such as the effects on or requirements for the structure to be built or for the concrete to be supplied. The planned “new scheme for concrete construction quality” that is currently being compiled by the appropriate German Committee for Standards in Civil Engineering and the German Committee for Structural Concrete could be a suitable basis for the requisite modifications.
