Betonmischanlagen 2026
Entwicklungen und Tendenzen
Kotzan, Holger
Market overview: ready-mix concrete plants 2026
According to figures from the Federal Association of the German Ready-Mixed Concrete Industry, there were around 1 800 stationary and mobile ready-mixed concrete plants in operation across Germany in 2024. These were operated by around 560 ready-mixed concrete companies, employing a total of around 11 215 people. These figures illustrate, on the one hand, the industry’s strong regional presence and, on the other, its structure, which is characterised by small and medium-sized enterprises and a decentralised organisation. The plant sites are spread across the whole of Germany and must ensure a reliable and timely supply to construction sites despite sharply fluctuating local demand. However, the current market situation is characterised by a marked weakness in demand. In 2024, around 36.81 million m³ of ready-mixed concrete was pro- duced in Germany. Compared with the previous year’s figure of 42.29 million m³, this represents a decline of 13.0 %. Production had already fallen significantly in 2023 compared with 2022: whilst 52.21 million m³ were produced in 2022, the production volume two years later was around 15.4 million m3 – or just under 30 % – lower. Today, concrete batching plants must meet a wide range of requirements. In addition to reliable production operations, the focus is particularly on cost-effectiveness, flexible plant designs, short installation times and the most efficient possible use of energy and raw materials. Added to this are increasing demands regarding automation, dosing accuracy, ease of maintenance and the processing of different concrete mixes. Manufacturers are responding to this with modular plant designs, advanced mixing and control technology, and additional solutions for resource-efficient operation. This market overview presents, in alphabetical order, selected concrete batching plants from various manufacturers, highlights their areas of application and compares their technical concepts and key features.
